Thanks for the explanation, makes more sense now with the battery being rechargeable.
I picked up a different battery pack from Ebay last week so I'll try fitting it tomorrow and report back

Alarm horn siren with pics
My 2010 b6 keeps throwing a 01134 fault code for the alarm horn siren.
I haven't experienced any issues and the alarm still works as it should.
I swapped in a few alarm sirens from scrap yards/ebay and the alarm did not sound on any of them.
I just opened up my one, Battery still reads 6v and ...

Did you leave yours connected?

Re: Alarm horn siren replacement?
Oh that's an idea, never occurred to me to try and replace the battery!
I'll get mine off at the weekend for the part number and go from there.
Mine is still working but not sure why it's throwing a fault

Alarm horn siren replacement?
I have the following fault popping up,
-01134, alarm horn siren fault.
I've had no actual issues other than a possible battery drain.
Contacted vw using part number 1k0951605c to get a price on the part, €350!
So what I'm wondering is, can I fit a generic alarm siren to have everything 100 ...

Battery drain/ fault codes and symptoms
I have a 2010 passat estate, 2L tdi.
I have been using a Carley scanner the last few months to track the fault codes.
Not all appear at the same time.
The symptoms I've noticed,
Battery drain/car struggling to start.

Fixed my fob last night,
The pics and info here was very helpful.
Had to replace 2 microswitch's and I was also missing the little piece of plastic under the lock button.
I had to refit mine without a new piece of plastic glued in.

Ah I see, thanks for the clarification.
Having not done it before ide say it'll start to make sense once I do the job.
From what your describing, I presume the front bumper needs to be removed?

Thanks for the reply!
Yes it's the ac condenser I'm looking to replace.
So front bumper stays, one less thing to worry about.
I'm not too familiar with the b6, what or where are is the bumper cover and what do you mean by putting the car lock carrier into the service position?

Re: Air con rad issue
Had come across something from stp to stop the leak but the reviews were hit and miss.
Ide rather sway it out and have it 100%!!
Whats access like for swapping the rad out??
Can it be done with the front bumper in place and the undertray removed?

Air con rad issue
Got a pressure test done yesterday and the rad has a pin hole in it.
Waiting on a price to replace/ fit new rad but i was wondering is there something that can be put into the system that will seal the hole?? (Like radweld for the coolant system)

Very good rubber!
Never really had much of an issue with traction, all depends on how she was driven!
Car was very well balanced with no expense spared on suspension or bushings

Have just bought a B6 estate.
Came across the forum while researching possible issues the car may have.
Car is highline, 2.0tdi, 110hp 5speed.
Apart from the standard highline spec she has no extras.
