Alarm horn siren replacement?

I have the following fault popping up,
-01134, alarm horn siren fault.

I've had no actual issues other than a possible battery drain.

Contacted vw using part number 1k0951605c to get a price on the part, €350!

So what I'm wondering is, can I fit a generic alarm siren to have everything 100% again or is replacing the unit with a second hand unit the only option?
