Those drls do look good, can't see why they wouldn't fit a UK spec car? Might be due to them not being road legal/eu marked or something like that
UK/EU passats are different to the North America versions. Bumpers, headlights, the lot. Not interchangeable

Re: Tramlining

It is annoying. I had a BMW that did it, replaced loads of parts to then find out it's just one of the poo characteristics of having runflat tyres. They have no flex whatsoever in the sidewall, so tramlining was pretty bad, especially if they were low profile. Speaking of which, if you are running w...

Re: remap time!

Mine was 140 standard. Rolling Road test was 142 to start, and after remap 192. I'd get yourself to a rolling road to ensure the power output is what has been claimed. I'm curious though, did the remapper not have a rolling road? If he didn't, then if there was a "printout" it would be a generic one...

Re: Tuning boxes, or not!

There's no substitute for a remap. Tuning boxes just fool the ECU into thinking there's less fuel pressure and turbo boost, so the ecu increases it to what it thinks it "should" be, which in turn increases these above their normal operating parameters, and that gives you the power increase. A remap ...

Re: air intake duct & airbox queries

Hole, not sure. If it looks like it's been drilled, it's something someone else has done and not like that from factory. You'll notice plastic swarf on the inside or outside edge of the hole if it's been drilled, and the only reason someone will do this is for an increase of induction noise without ...

Re: Cooling fans running

The fans still run after the DPF regen is complete, so if you use the car again and it doesn’t do it the car will be fine - I think it’s something like 5 starts with the DPF being interrupted before it warns you to regen. This is my 4th car with a DPF but definitely the one that regens the most and...

Re: Cooling fans running

For reference, the fans run on to keep the engine bay cool if a DPF regen has been interrupted (such as when you park up at home). The DPF reaches temperatures of around 650c when a regen takes place, so cooling the engine bay is a must when the car stops to protect nearby components from heat damag...

Re: A/C Compressor Query - Again...

The X8R plate will fix the issue. Common problem with this compressor. To remove the centre bolt if it won't come out, you'll need to grind off the head of the bolt to remove the plate. Once removed, you can bolt on the new plate with the 3 new outer bolts. This will hold the pump shaft in place whi...

Re: Towbars wheels and Swapping non folding door mirrors for folding ones.

Mirrors, almost, but this requires memory seats, so if you can transfer the seats, module, switches, associated wiring and the mirrors, then yes you can have power folding mirrors. Bear in mind that it will all need coding afterwards. Tyre pressure sensors, i'm not sure. I did however swap one of my...

I've done around 12,000 miles since the remap, and i've had zero issues. Clutch still works fine, doesn't slip, and hasn't changed since. People mention clutch iss...

Re: Fuel measured by the crazy way?

It can be one of 2 things, Either you have a leak, or it could be your car is trying to do a DPF regen which will increase the fuel consumption, especially if you are doing a few short journeys as the DPF is not getting a chance to complete the regen and starting again the next time you go out for a...

The light will only come on when the sensor eventually comes into contact with the brake disc as the pad gets low. Even unplugged, it will not illuminate a warning light as it has nothing to ground to.

Yes, 2 years from the date of the emissions update being applied. There is also a mileage limit of 160,000, so if you reach this before or during the 2 year TBM, then the warranty is no longer valid.
