EGR cooler

Post by Womble2005 »

Had the P2002 code on my car for while now. Been to a VW specialist and they are sure the rear EGR cooler is partially blocked and needs either cleaning or replacing.

They have told me the DPF needs to come out as you can’t remove the cooler by itself. They are quoting a 10 hour job and in the region of £1800-1900 including a DPF flush and new cooler.

Is it correct they must come out together of can it be done on its own?

Also aside a main dealer supplied cooler which is the best brand to get ?

As always thanks
