I still have to get the car recovered as the AA were quoting recovery at 2am this morning... but before i abandoned ship last night on my way home I started having a series of issues, first was a low hoover noise followed shortly by limp mode, then before i could pull over safely a lot of dark smoke out the back end of the car. Idled for a few minutes stationary to read the codes, then turned off the engine. It would not start again after this, like the battery was flat.
The codes thrown up were P029900 and P305400, I was initially thinking worst case turbo had gone or i had a very bad boost leak somewhere, but with the non-turn over, would a dying/suddenly dead battery cause these issues? On the other B7 we have when the alternator died it caused a few running issues, but not limp mode. 2.0tdi by the way.
any thoughts?
