Ecp and cv boot kit

I bought a gkn boot kit from ecp, normally use the online carparts4less opposed to going in but on this rare occasion it worked out a few pounds cheaper.

The boot seems fine but everything is loose in the box, plus there's a bit of grease around.

Shouldn't it all be in a plastic bag?

Also the Mann website says I need c 26 168 air filter but I have c 26 151?

Any ideas before I take it all back??
