Ok, I've had this problem more than once on various VW models, all wit CBAB or CBBB engine codes. In the past I've just fitted the aluminium spacer that limits travel of the stepper motor and it's worked on both occasions. This time I've done the same mod and whilst the 2015 code has gone I'm getting 2004 codes for manifold flap stuck open, and another for flap stuck shut. Coincidentally I just had the same 2015 code come up on a second vehicle with the same engine code.
I'm considering a swirl flap delete to just do away with the system as it's just a stupid, troublesome system anyway. I've done this on a couple of BMWs previously and its worked well.
Has anyone done this mod? The flap removal/blanking looks easy enough, but do you leave the stepper motor in place to fool the engine the system is still present (as you do with the BMW mod) or is remapping required?
