2018 Passat reverse camera issue - intermittent

Hi all. First time posting - please forgive any etiquette errors.

I have a 2018 Passat Estate Gt Tsi ACT 150 Bluemotion.

My reverse camera (pop out VW badge one) works sometimes. Doesn't work at all at other times. Sometimes it comes on, flickers a bit and then goes off.

I've done lots of googling. It's obviously not the fuse as it sometimes works. I've tried resetting the infotainment system. I've tried cleaning the camera area.

I'm assuming a loose connection... and someone suggested an earth issue.

Has anyone been through this and solved the issue without spending a fortune? Any help very gratefully received. Thanks!
