1999 B5 tdi estate. I have noticed a knocking/dull thumping noise coming from the passenger side front wheel. It is very noticeable above about 40mph on smooth roads and when turning to the left. No clicking from the universal joint at low speeds?
We had the car in the garage about a month ago to have two top suspension arms changed on that side. Also have had two new front tyres fitted but the noise remains. Is it likely to be the track rod end?
Need to get it sorted asap but have to deal with local French garages which are all awful!
Any thoughts?
