Downside of an EGR delete?

Post by MightyBoosh »

after reading through a few threads on here about EGR deletes im considering doing mine.

however it seems that people do it when they have a clogged up EGR and i have no idea what condition mine is in. after 126,000 i can imagine its seen better days though but if it is clean is there any point?

are there any downsides to an EGR delete? i cant imagine there is seen as diesel engines ran for years without them but you never know.

and finally how does one delete it on a 53 plate 1.9 130? ive seen gazwould put a bolt in the end of his hose but it seems like it depends on which year/engine your passat is?

Boosh.
