.(#1.)He had convinced himself they had to be there one hour before so decided to stop for a coffee,they should have been there an hour and a half before.They ferry company was sympathetic but refused to budge.Alternatives were wait until the next day or drive from Hull to Dover to catch an early morning ferry,Dover here we come.
After a stop in Amsterdam they finally hit the 'ring.His mate did a lap and then it was his turn,five minutes into his lap the turbo decided to let go (#2.) Fabia VRS.
He was on the phone close to tears with sheer frustration but then a couple of hours later the situation was looking good again,he used his breakdown cover and the car was on a low loader,they were in a mini bus on their way back to the hotel and arrangements were being made to pick up a hire/courtesy car the next day. (courtesy car is part of the breakdown cover apparently).
The next day they were in a brand new Golf estate ready for the next leg of the journey,the epic VW show at Worthesee,Austria.
