Considering a B6

Firstly I apologise if you guys get posts like this frequently however i was wondering if someone could alert me of any "major issues" with the B6. Being around since 2005/2006 i'd imagine some of these cars would be screaming any major problems with some of the mileages i've seen advertised on the trader.

The reason for my enquiry is that I have lost a bit of confidence in VW's through the water ingression problem with my B5.5 and it worries me that VW were still selling a car (B5.5) as recent as 2005 that had problems keeping water out!!

Many lesser makes have managed to achieve this several decades ago!

That said and my wee rant over, I still like my Passat and I really like the new B6, but i just want to be reassured that the thing is designed properly and that VW design engineers had a better day at the office this time around with the B6.

Please reassure me that any problems the B6 has, are reasonable in the context of modern technology

Its either that or i'll be forced to get a Honda (yawn)! I need a reliable and bomb-proof workhorse that will last the course.

PS Is the electronic hand break fandango a PITA?
