Having skidded on a junction in our village
I was hoping to have a bit of a run to get up to the main road - that's where the problems started.
I was doing ok until the driver of a Renault Scenic bottled out and stopped halfway up said hill
Then of course I lost traction ! I maintained a bit progress by switching the off the ESP so obviously the warning light came on as you'd expect.
With one wheel spinning fastish - not over revving I did eventually manage to get to the main road.
Once on the main road, and driving normally both the ABS & the ESP lights stayed on
Anyway, I got to work ok. I phoned my stealer and it was booked in accordingly.
I went to drive home at the end of the day and both the lights came on with the ignition.
However, as soon as the wheels started to turn both the lights went out
I guess that the system must have reset itself. The ESP can be switched on and off as normal and the ABS juddering of the brake pedal is still evident when provoked into action on a bit of snow !
Any ideas as to what happened here ?
I always use my B5.5 estate in the snow as it has a conventional handbrake which you can control.
My B6 sport estate has the electric handbrake so is on or off hence I won't use it in the snow simple as that
