If you put your location onto your signature you might be surprised who lives near and who can help you.
If you don't you are less likely to get offers of help. There are lots of new people on here who are suffering the age old foibles of owning Passats that the old timers on here could quickly and easily help out with. This is particularly true for diagnostics where you may be able to get it done at a time that suits you rather than having to go through the faff of 'booking' the car in, arranging a lift etc. There is also the cost, what would you rather, "That'll be £70 plus VAT Sir" or £12 to £15 for a case of beer for the old timers trouble and your problem sorted very quickly.
This applies to everyone except me, who it seems is the only person on here in Maidenhead or the near surrounding area.
