Hi All
Have had an emissions fault for a while now and suspected EGR as there was a fair amount of oily crud coming from one of the 2 holes near the diaphragm on the valve body. I have had the emissions warning on the dash which I can clear with a generic scanner but keeps coming back.
Got down and dirty with it today and the valve won't hold a vacuum or operate so the diaphragm is basically shot and the valve remains in the closed position.
As much as I hate EGR valves as they are notoriously poo however its probably easier for me to get a new EGR (£60 @ ECP) than go through all the rigmarole of removing it entirely.
Would welcome anyones thoughts on what they've done etc. To my knowledge its the original EGR valve and the motors done 145000 now (1.9pd 103 by the way).
