Hi guys after getting rid of my dragon green b4 saloon a little while ago I have made my way back to a passat.

It's a 2003 130pd tdi estate with 130k on it.

Now I've had a golf with the same engine and that returned 50-60 on my commute with ease.

I was expecting less from a larger heavier car ...

You can buy 25mm rubber grommets from b&q in packs of 10.

They very cheap. You can have one of mine posted for the cost of the delivery.

But it's easier to just go to b&q! They look very tidy when fitted.

So not currently in a passat but I'm in a b4 audi 80 with a 1z tdi.

Got hold of a b5 passat with the afn tdi engine.

Does anyone know what parts are interchangable?

If the afn is healthier than my 1z what bits are worth swapping over?

possibly the best looking b3 around at the moment!

I fitted a mk3.5 wheel into my b4 and it made it feel like a newer car!

Stock b4 wheel is naff

Am I right in saying that with the engine running in my 1z it should be difficult to remove the oil filler cap due to a vacuum?

Mine comes off with out effort and the engine keeps ticking as normal. No slight change or anything.

Does this mean i have a leak somewhere?

By what you said it sounds like everyone on this forum is getting a decat!

It's running a hydro clutch and cable shift so if anyone knows a compatable gearbox that would bolt on to an aaz please let me know

Fair doos. Well if you are running 5x130 to 4x100 adapters they are going to be at least 15mm thick so that brings your offset down a bit.

But with 15mm you will need 20 shorter wheel bolts as te stock ones will be too long.

Ypu can go as thick as you want on the rear really. I'm running et 15 ...

Surely if so it would make more sense to get Some that are the correct PCD.

But if not it really depends how you want the wheels to sit.

Anything from et 45 up to et 0 can work.

At 5.5j they are fairly narrow wheels and with that et they will be well tucked under the car.

Ha they have had a coat of paint

They are now a normal colour and look better on my b3 than they did on the b4
