Hello Paul,
I'm going to lift the carpet and have a look at the electrics under the passenger foot well, just in case there has been some water ingress. I'll let you know my findings.
Regarding the deactivation of the fob, my mate is a car key programmer and he couldnt get it to work, no errors ...

Central locking has stopped working
Hi all,
I was sat in the Passat the other day, when i thought my door locked button didnt seem right down, so i opened and closed it using the button on the inside, did this a couple of times. Now the car will not open on the key fob. It will open manually but not on the push button. I've changed ...

Re: Ideas wanted - no brakes!
Hi all, just been reading about the issues found with the brakes. Mine were doing the same. I've replaced the pipe work to the rear of the servo through the bulk head and to the tandem fuel pump. On the connection on the tandem fuel pump from the brake servo, the connection on the tandem fuel pump ...

Re: B5.5 lots of smoke poss no turbo
Karl, thanks for the reply, think your spot on with the reply. I'm in the process of getting a reconditioned turbo. I've seen a few on Ebay, or may try GSF to see if they stock them. Would you happen to know how to get the exact on? Its an AVF coded one, but is there a lot of difference with this ...

Re: B5.5 lots of smoke poss no turbo
I've removed the inlet pipe, fans are fine and spinning freely, seems to be quite oily in there. Would that mean there is a chance the turbo is fine??
What would stop the turbo initiating and oil to come straight through the exhaust?? Back of the car is splattered with oil residue off the exhaust ...

Re: B5.5 lots of smoke poss no turbo
Hello DS, the car is a 1.9 TDI 130 PD Highline. Thanks for the reply, and yes my own stupidity will have cost me a few bob no doubt.
When I get up to the revs I would normally see the turbo kick in, it doesnt, just a load of white ish smoke out the exhaust.
Cheers

B5.5 lots of smoke poss no turbo
Hi all, I've recently had an issue with the IC Hose popping off, bought a new hose and clips and seemed to be fine although not 100%. Starting then getting a lack of power, like the turbo was intermittent. Today lost power on the motorway and loads of smoke coming out the rear!!! My initial thought ...

Re: b5.5 passat rear tail light cluster
Hi, you can easily find light clusters from breakers yards, they normally have them on the shelf, reasonably cheap too. Best to search for one close to you. Just an idea. Cheers

Does anyone know where to get a new rear ashtray...
Hi, I was wondering where would be the best place to get some niff naff and trivia bits for the Passat? I'm looking for a new rear ashtray, as the one i have is broke and stays open. Hopefully the same place suggested also does the left mounting stay for the sun blind, as for some reason my Passat ...
