cheers guys got lucky i no lol ts now ready for mot i sorted my locking out with wd40 lol its only the boot that wont lock now so microswitch must be knackered or something but i plan to fit a b5.5 tailgate anyway also de-badged the rear and fitted my sound system

fitted 2 new vac hoses the long 1 ...

so basicaly i can give my engine a service stick a fmic on,a 710 from a tt and a panel filter then map it and add 312mm carriers n discs to stop it haha

nice wagon remap is on my list is the air filter the only mod u have interested to no what a standard 1.8t makes after a simple map bet it feels loads better now and nice b5 aswell
I have just got a b5 1.8t estate in same colour and love it

i have same prob atm found it by opening bonnet with engine idling (i have a 1.8t) and look on the left side cat connects to turbo on mine and you can see the cat between bulkhead and turbo then rev it from the throttle body and i could hear it rattle inside cat on tick over then go when i revved it

sounds like maybe your cat has disindigrated inside and bit rattle inside

il give you all a clue it involved a hairdryer the polish and cloth

also sorted my idling problem by replacing fuel filter and sorted my cent locking out

drainage holes under battery tray and master cylinder may be blocked and seal the other 3 doors

well if took the pipe of shined a torch down it and it looks pretty clean can see silver lol do these engines have idle control valve if so where is it located to? and is their a egr valve?

can of wd40 and heat mate e be patient tho

i took the pipe of the throttle body and the throttle body was silver looks clean inside.
if i take the throttle body of is there a gasket to replace

right today I thought lets check my vacuum anyway the little vac pipe on the inlet was split and the long one that goes from the inlet to the dv wasn't even connected at the dv end so replaced both of them with new hose I then took the bottom hose off the intercooler passenger side and about 100ml ...

i too really enjoyed reading that lovely looking motor as i am new to the Passat scene this has given me some ideas for mine

loved every mile in the a4 estate1.8 non turbo but this passat feels even better but the Audi did have 195k on the clock and the passat has 88k lol but i have always preferred the looks of the VW

also can anyone tell me my pant code?
