Changed steering wheel now esp and abs have turned off

I got a new steering wheel the other week. Took the old one off etc. I had the little fooler wiring for the air bag plugged it all in.. nothing. So I took the wheel off again and smashed the clock spring. Ordered a new one, slapped it on today and it's still doing it, ABS ESP and when I set off it beeps at me 3 times and flashes the handbrake light on and off at me. I've put the wiring in, and the horn works so I assume the clock springs in working order. What can it be?
DO I need to put the trick wires in and then get the error codes cleared or is there something else wrong here?
