Replacing car battery

Replacing car battery
I am about to replace my car battery but does any one know if I have to take any special precautions when disconnecting the old old and replacing the new one? I have bought an Exide Premium EA 770 that will be delivered tomorrow but I'm not sure if I have to keep a connection to the car electrics live whilst I swop the the batteries
