No wires to bottom of door puddle / courtesey lights ?

Hello all , can anyone advise me please , ive recently purchased some ghost puddle lights for the bottom of the two front doors on my Passat cc , the problem is when I have removed the original units they are just reflectors and there is no wiring to connect my new units to , also if they can be wired in will the ecu need to be coded etc.. I purchased these thinking they were plug and play didn't even realise that my original lights didn't even light up because my car also has the puddle lights in the bottom of the mirrors which work fine. The car is a cc 2012 , I have looked in the how to section but cant find anything there , thanks in advance Marv.
