vw passat clutch pedal sticking

hi folks - i've just picked up a dec 2008 passat s from a vw dealer on monday with 13000 miles on her. while driving today the clutch pedal failed to return after i was changing gear and i sme;t a burning smell which was probavbly the clutch. the car seems to be driving fine. should i return it to the dealer as i've a 30 day warranty and tell them about the pedal sticking or just let it go. i'm hoping that there's no long term dmage done!! any thoughts guys?
