Any help or pointers to sorting door issue.

Evening guys,
Iv noticed my drivers door has dropped a little, I only noticed due to excessive wind noise tbh. Iv done a little digging and it appears that the top door hinge bracket may well have play in it/worn. Iv rocked the door from the bottom and can confirm it definitely has play in it.
What I have found online mentions that you have to replace the top door hinge bracket, but you can only gain access to the fixings by taking the dash out to replace. Could anyone confirm this for me please and has anyone on here fixed the same issue?
