New B7 Owner. Alarm/Hazards Question

Hi, I have just picked up a 2011 Passat 2.0 TDI SE saloon.
Very happy with the car overall. Just trying to get my head around the various menus, sub-menus and buttons. Not easy when the owners manual is missing!
I have noticed a couple of times this week that the hazard's have been flashing when the car is on the driveway. No alarm is going off but I assume this is alarm related?
Any ideas? The only possible pattern I have noticed to this is when the boot has been opened.
