Factory tow bars and caravans

I've just picked my car up from having a Westfalia towbar fitted. This is the same detachable bar that VW factory fit.

I've got home and had a play with it to familiarize myself with how it goes on and off, but was suprised at how close the hitch looks to be to the bumper. I'm sure it will be fine with a normal trailer, but there doesn't as if there will be much spare room around the caravans Alko stabiliser head. I've not been to get our caravan from winter storage yet, but wondered if anyone else towed with a Westfalia bar.
