Remote key advice

I placed a post in the 'Other VAG' forum to see if anyone can advise about matching my remote key to the car.
I hope no-one minds me placing a mention of it in this forum (as my car is a 1999/2000 year, so about the time of the B5/B5.5).
Not everyone looks at the 'Other VAG' forum, and I just wondered if anyone who is a regular here, but not there, might be able to help.
