AVF ENGINE IDENTIFICATION

Hi peeps.
I got an ebay s/h engine, supposedly AVF from an A4.
Its in my 03 4 motion estate.
Now how can I tell its AVF?
Had to swap sump and a few AC alt mount.
Its got the big clutch.
So how do I d it, preferably without
I've mapped it with have to strip.
Are engine numbers any good?
I've uploaded one of Bill's (T2000) maps, on my saloon it flys, on 4motion estate its not much better than stock.
I understand it heavier has more drag from 4x4 stuff.
