Leak in the boot

Post by smilie121 »

I have a small amount of water in the passenger side recess of the boot. I have removed the carpet and dried it up, hosed the car for up to 20 minutes along all grooves, seals and anywhere else I think the water could get in, including the back doors.

There was no water after leaving it a few hours and this morning there's a small amount as in the picture below. I've checked the seals at the top of the boot where the wire is, fixings and I have even removed the brake cluster to find the seal is excellent condition - no sign of water. The black vent thingy in the picture however squelches like the wife on any given night. However I could not get any water to come in upon pressing it repeatedly.

Any idea's?
