rear door wont unlock

Hi all,i cant get the rear nearside door to unlock.I noticed a few times in the past i had to press the fob a couple of times for the button to pop up but now it wont.I can head the motor whirring when i press the fob but the button dont pop up.If i pull the inner handle the button comes up but goes straight back down again when i release the handle.
Any suggestions most gratefully accepted Ta
