abs or no abs?

Post by firehawk »

evening all. I'm getting a bit piissed off with the dealer that I bought my passat off of. when I bought it, it went back for a few things and one of them was to investigate the clicking cv joint. they didn't for some reason and I took it back last wednesday. the keep fobbing me off with excuses as to why it isn't ready. originally it was going to be ready friday. they rang me just before closing time (conveniently) on thursday and left a message to say they couldn't find the locking tool. I know it is in the pouch in the tool bag and so should they cos they've fitted tyres to it when I bought it. they rang me again late on friday to say that they had the new joint in but they still couldn't find the locking tool and that they would have to go to vw on monday (today) so that they could borrow a one that fits. they said that vw had conveniently lent it out and wouldn't be able to get it today. they rand me again about 4 ish to say that they have got the wheel off but the joint is wrong because it is a non-abs one. now, I don't ever recall seeing or working on a b5.5 passat with no abs. I also have a feeling that you can remove the rings to swap them over but I may be wrong and that may be other vw's. does anyone else reckon that they are feeding me a load of bullshirt? I'm gonna properly rip into them tomorrow cos they would have had it almost a week just to do a bloody cv joint which takes an hour tops.

I am now trying my absolute best to kill their bloody courtesy car. I may also stick the jack and toolkit on ebay.

cheers

jeff
