Hey guys,
My MOT is due in a couple of weeks, and I want to do my front discs and pads before it goes in. The car's got 127k on the clock, and the service history shows no sign of the front discs being changed, and when I'm slowing down, as the car slows from around 20, there's a jerk which occurs, and gets slower as the car gets slower (and if I'm on the motorway and brake from 80, I get a violent judder too) - symptoms of warped discs.
I normally do my own brakes and basic maintenance as I'm a reasonably competent amateur mechanic, but I can't find a decent guide for the front brakes. I've managed to get on for a 1999 B5 Passat, where mine's a 2003 B5.5.
What I want to know, is whether that guide will be right as far as torque figures are concerned?
Cheers
