Amplified aerial

I have just fitted a Sony Xplode head unit and the reception on FM is horrendous it doesn't like to tune into anything. I noticed on the loom/adaptor there is a blue wire on the original loom which is normally a power aerial. Does the Passat have an amplified aerial and if so which wire needs a power source.
