B4 electric windows dead

Picked up a b4 estate yesterday and there's a long list of things to fix. All good fun

This afternoon the first job was to get the none opening drivers door, well, open
Turns out both handles are goosed, the plastic clips that connect the door pin to the lock mech etc are smashed and incomplete in the bottom of the door.

Anyway to the point, when I got the car none of the leccy windows work. Nothing. Dead. Fiddling with the door today, turning the key and holding it in the lock, the window goes up and down, like your controlling it with the key from outside. Is this normal? At least I know the window motor and regulator in the drivers door is ok!! Any ideas on where to start? None of the windows respond to any of the switches.
