Not exactly a passat one this, but I am having trouble getting a 6 disc dash mount changer to work in a 1999 MK4 Golf.
I have fitted one in the arm rest of my Passat no probs. But the golf wont play ball. I bought one off ebay out of an anniversary, plugged it in, put in a disc and cd error was it's reply. So I tested it in a mate's R32 and it worked fine. Not a duff unit then. Next I tried the R32 one in. Same responce.
The Golf has a factory gamma head unit with a boot mount changer which work fine, but it does not like the dash mount one.
I think that these changers came out in 2002, so maybe they don't work in eariler cars.
Can anybody shed any light on this?
