New Android unit, poor reception

Just bought a Android head unit and the radio reception is poor, even the standard unit couldn't pick up many stations. Yet I can jump into an old corsa and pick up everything!
Anyway, the new unit I have only requires one fakra in the back so I had to buy a 2 into 1 adaptor. See picture
Do I need to throw that away and buy the booster setup with the blue wire? If so where do I find a 12v feed is it from the radio?
I'm also going to replace the rear Window amp, looks ago, checked it but not sure if it's working or if there is a way to find out.
