I have a b6 Passat with an RCD310 but I've found it all sounds well... Flat.. I've been looking at units to replace it that won't cost the earth. I can get an apparently genuine RCD510 for around £100 which looks ok. I originally started looking at the Chinese knock offs of the RNS510 but am concerned they'll sound poo and won't last very long.
My question is will the RCD510 produce a better sound than the 310
I like the OEM look but it doesnt have to be identical so also open to suggestions, but can't stretch much past £100 as we are saving for a house deposit and the wife would kill me. Don't get me wrong I'd love the Bluetooth, dvd and sat nav functionality but don't want to sacrifice good sound quality as I can't afford £500 for a good unit
