Aerial booster

A very strange thing is happening with my aerial booster. I bought a new one yesterday from Halfords and plugged it in then wired the power cable to the one that was previously connected (bear in mind that the radio has never worked properly since fitting an aftermarket stereo). I had to do the swapping around of live cables aswell when fitting the new headunit.

Basically, what happens is....... Get in from car being locked and it works for about 5-10 mins then the signal drops off. If I then stop car switch off and lock then come back and do the same, it works again for another 5-10 mins. It's driving me mad!

Also not sure if it is meant to do this but when lights are left on and ignition is on then the lights on the stereo stay lit but it is not playing.

Any help much appreciated.
