Intercooler pipes weeping

anybody else have the problem of oil weeping out of intercooler pipes on b5.5 130bhp its annoying but only a really small amount 1 oil top up between annual service everything is running perfect no power loss etc and its been doing it nearly 2 years now. Got it fully rebuilt few times its mapped to 170bhp with alot of extra torque. Mechanic says just leave it theres no split pipes or anything. Is it a bad idea to seal it up what could i use for it? Need some advice thanks.
