We do a fair bit of camping in the summer months, and all our gear used to fit (just) into our Focus C-Max.
I've now got a Passat Saloon, and my estimates are that we don't have a chance of getting it all in the boot.
So, I'm after an option.
1 - Roof bars with a roof box for the camping gear
or
2 - Tow Bar with a small box trailer
What I could do with knowing is, which is easiest to live with, which is better for fuel economy etc.
Obviously, cost wise option 1 is cheaper, however initially I think I'd hire the trailer from my local towing place for £6 a day rather then buy one, just until I know which is best.
Any advise would be welcome, but please don't tell me to buy an estate
Cheers,
Ed
