Couple issues with new Passat

Hey all,

Had my first Passat GT for around a month now and generally quite happy with it but have experienced a couple of issues hoping you Nice peeps can shed some light on.

Firstly I have awful gearbox whine when decelerating and read online that there is a gearbox shim that fixes it. Has anyone else had any experience with this fix that could give me some insight please?

Secondly the doors and general interior sounds awful over uneven roads. Ive seen a lot of Golf's have issues with creaky door seals that cause interior noise. Does everyone else's interior sound like a box of nuts and bolts???
