Passat GTE

Hi everyone, I'm looking at buying one of the new plug-in hybrid Passat GTEs, mainly cause the estate version ticks a lot of boxes for me (and looks sexy as hell in the havard blue with st. tropez nappa leather). Anyway despite an avalanche of press announcements to the contrary the Passat GTE looks to be delayed in the UK. The local dealership were only vague and speculative about the reasons for this, they suggested it could be extra testing for the right hand drive version. I've had a seemingly competitive quote from a brokerage who say they can get me one with a lead time of 16 weeks, but part of me thinks I should probably buy from a dealership with such new technology. Or at least for VW to decide it's mainstream price so I can consider whether a factory order through a broker is a good idea or not. Does anyone here have any insider info about what the score is with the UK release date for the passat gte? Cheers, from Lee
