First time Clay / SRP and then AG HD wax....advice welcomed

Post by Surinder »

Hello,

I am hoping to "treat" my recently acquired B5.5 to its first clay (to my knowledge) and then AG SRP, my sister just got me th AG HD wax and I hope to put that on top of the SRP.

I have never used clay before and am just waiting for my ebay ordered Bilt Hamber soft clay to arrive.

I have used the SRP before on previous cars and it has (to my untrained eye) made the cars look a lot better.

Feeling nervous about the claying process, but looking forward to the end product. I will be doing all the work by hand and hope to upload some images when I finish.

Does what I am proposing sound right?

So here is what I am hoping to do:

1) wash the car using autoglym shampoo / dry
2) have a go at using the clay
3) wash / dry again
4) apply SRP (layer it possibly 3 - 4 times - as currently the car looks as though it has been through automated carwashes its entire life)
5) apply the AG HD wax (first time using this for me too)
6) maybe wait 24hrs and reapply the HD wax.

Any advice comments appreciated. The car is i think Samoa Red (looks kinda brown to me)
