A4 1.9 tdi possible boost problem ?

Hi there wondering if anyone could shine some light on a issue im haveing with my 2000 reg A4 1.9 tdi sometimes when your overtaking it sort of dies as if the turbo is not kicking in but if you switch the ignition off and on again its fine pulls like a train but happens 3 or 4 times on a run its quite anoying lol any help would be much appreciated
