PD and non PD engines

PD and non PD engines

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of acquiring another VW - probably a Bora Tdi of some description. However, I'm confused over engines; what's the difference between PD and non PD. I've heard PD engines can be problematic - is that true and if so what should I look out for?
