Re: Changing Can Gateway?
I only bought the can gateway in case my ns510 drained my battery. I have'nt used it for a couple of days and it started without problem so unsure whether to change. Is there any other benefits to change the gateway from 'c' to 'l'? Newer canbus will allow more modern equipment to be retrofitted, t...

Re: Changing Can Gateway?
I thought this would be really hard however it wasnt after a few trial and error mistakes. i took the centre console out but that is not needed. You can do it if you take out the ashtray and air con panel, you probably want to remove the stereo for better access if you struggle. The canbus unclips e...

Are H&R springs lower than sport?
I have B6 Sport estate, i know the shocks and springs are lower than standard but i dont know if installing H&R springs with a 40 mm drop would be lower than i have already.
Can anyone say if there would be any difference as i dont really want coilovers.
Thanks
John

Re: Boot rust issue VW aware!!
My car year is 2006 and is an estate version. I made the query about the rust but can't remember under what warranty. I know it was 12 years though

Boot rust issue VW aware!!
I have been in touch with VW regarding my boot on my estate that is rusting behind the number plate lights. They have looked at the boot and done the paint depth analysis. All findings have gone to VW and they have agreed to replace the boot for free with a revised model due to an inherant design fa...

Re: pulling to the left on accelleration
sounds like torque steer to much welly I wouldnt expect torque steer in 5th and 6th at 60-70mph. If it was 1st and 2nd giving it some welly then yeah i would understand that. I will get the tracking done and see if that helps, if not do you think it is bushes which would be strange as i would expec...

Re: CANBUS Upgrade - now issues!!
well i have just changed the lights (Led sidelights and hid headlights) back to std and cleared the faults. The only remaining fault is the airbag fault which is concerning me. I did remove the centre console due to replacing the gear selector cables, this all went back as it should. I did break the...

Re: pulling to the left on accelleration
This happens in higher gears on the motorway/dual carriageway at speed (legal).
The tyres are new and balanced with correct air pressure, the air pressure doesnt affect it, i havent had tracking done, could this be the reason or is it bushes?
Thanks John

Re: CANBUS Upgrade - now issues!!
definatley the correct canbus. My main concern is the airbag fault, i have cleared the other faults and the lighting faults are due to hid's that i am removing now! See below for vcds scan details: Monday,05,March,2012,13:36:42:12749 VCDS Version: Release 11.11.2 (x64) Data version: 20120126 -------...

pulling to the left on accelleration

VW couldn't diagnose it after major service and test drive! Has anyone experienced this, does it sound like the front...

I have a Passat B6 140 TDI which had the version c of the canbus. I upgraded it for a later model "J" i think to be suitable for future upgrades. I have got a legit Ross Tech micro can (i think) that allows me to view and change the code. I have changed the code for the correct code using ...

Re: URGENT REGARDING 2.0 TDI INJECTORS
So what are the chances of getting the injectors changed BEFORE they cause a potentially lethal failure on the motorway?? high as long as they are the siemens injectors. Call customer services and ask them if they can arrange for the injectors to be checked against new part numbers as you are conce...

I was in the same position as you and 3 weeks in to ownership injector 3 failed. Re: Which models have the injector problem
They check the part numbers and will replace if they are not correct. I had a call from the Customer Agent in charge of my case and they said they replaced the 3 non faulty injectors due to them being the old (i assume siemens) injectors and replaced them with a new tested (bosch i think) injectors ...

Dynaudio upgrade retrofitting - how much!!
I have just had a quote from a guy in singapore on a vw forum for $2000 (singapore dollars) which is about £1100 for the full passat kit delivered to the uk.
I would have paid about £500 at a push. Definatley gonna look at other options now!!
Thanks John
