Re: New Passat no longer required.... (B5.5 Estate AWX)
Looks like a dodgy ccm or every mirco switch on your car is dead. (Unlikely) lift the carpet and check the loom for damage, open the ccm box and see if it's flooded and the connectors for corrosion. dry it out (airing cupboard) and see what happens. The alarm fault could be down to the ccm as the ...

There has not been much progress recently but i trying to get bits in when I can. Back in April 2013 I got a lower valance with parking sensor holes (thanks to crazy4alfa) but he had cut it to allow his jetex exhaust to be fitted correctly. Part of the sale of the valance was the tail pipe off the ...

Re: Footwell Lights On Puddle Light Circuit
Would you even need to use a relay? The draw from some L.E.Ds isn't going to cause any real extra load on the standard wiring. Where did you pick up your power from the interior light? The relays are for different features that I want. one way the foot well lights work off the interior light ...

This is a video is how I have wired mine up. I have a relay circuit so when I unlock the car they come on with the interior lights. Possible how you want your? I then I added an other relay circuit to that circuit so with ign on that relay switches from interior light feed to the cars illumination ...

Re: B5 rear lights on b5.5 (estate only)
Sorry to bump an old thread but if someone could explain something, that would be great. The B5.5 lights are held in with 4 bolts each. You replace them with B5 lights which have 3 bolts, but only the 2 outside ones actually line up with holes on the car. Hence the washer people have mentioned to ...

Re: B5:5 highline central locking
Sounds like the door lock mech maybe dead as the micro switch can fail after awhile or could be a fault window motor/wiring. Best thing would be to get it scanned with vag-com to pin point the fault. The only way to lock it would be to use the key in the door. It won't lock by remote as the ccm (by ...

Re: Cd changer to iPhone
Only some models of gamma and beta radios allow you to use the cd changer opinion as input as an aux.
The other gammas/betas need a cd change emulator to trick the head unit into thinking it has a changer attached and let's you use the inputs
You got a link to the cable you got?

Re: Do I really need an exhaust heatshield?
Can't see why not, the idea of a heat shield is to stop the heat from hitting the car (as you already know). In the days of me having golf mk3's they would alway fall off and I would just rip it completely out. Don't know if there is more heat on a diesel then a petrol exhaust but I think it really ...
