Re: Engine hesitation

Ah, thanks for the advise.

I may give the car a little bit more welly after it's up to temp on Monday, might free up a bit of soot.

I generally change up at just under 3k on the mountain rd maybe push it a bit harder.

Engine hesitation

Good afternoon all. I have recently had my 08 B6 develop an engine hesitation after around 15 minutes of driving it from cold, only happens then. My commute is a constant single track including altitude from home, no traffic or lights etc, so it's always in the same area of road also, 40 mph, I can ...

Re: Diagnostic socket location for B6 estate

Good evening. If its the same as my B6 saloon it's to the right of the wheel, low down Look where the bonnet release is, go to the left and feel under the little cubby hole which opens under the dash ignition and light dial. It is facing down and exposed, not hidden behind anything. Sent from my SM-...

Re: Air box removal

Evening Dmitch16 All good thank you, air box out and new bolt on, tricky bolt to find online but Deutsche parts UK had them. Pulled out just fine, the air hose you mentioned was in the way but just avoided it on removal as you said. Thanks for the advice. Sent from my SM-G980F using Tapatalk

Air box removal

Good evening, I am removing my air box tomorrow, one T30 bolt to remove, but noticed that there is also a rubber grommet front right holding it in place. May I ask if this is just a pull up scenario or does it take some finessing? I have no wish to break it as I do not have a replacement. Thank you ...

Fitting a new Actuator

Good morning, My car had a scan at the garage last week due to an ongoing issue which may be caused by the inlet manifold vacuum actuator not working, broken diaphragm. I have purchased one but not sure of its fitting, anybody fitted one before? I am simply hoping it's belt cover off rather than the...

Air box mounting bolt

Good evening.

I have just gone to take my air box out and the previous owner has rounded off the T30 Torx bolt.

I will get the mole grips out but wish to replace it.

Does anyone know the part number please?

Cannot seem to find one online.

Re: Driver's door panel removal

If it is the same as a B6 it's pretty straight forward. Using a flathead or trim tool, lift the door arm panel, unhook the electrical connectors and T30 screws. Two T20 to remove underneath the door panel, pull away, go through the top and unhook the door release cable from from the inside handle. P...

Re: MAP Sensor reading

Hi Ray, I am intending on getting my garage to run a quick diagnostic with their VCDS as they do not charge me for it. I purchased it from Darkside, its the exact same sensor as I took off it. Do not trust Ebay for such things. Everything seems fine with the car, I just found it odd, thought it coul...

MAP Sensor reading

Good afternoon, I recently changed my MAP sensor, my 08 B6 is running very well, idle is spot on, pulls great, fuel economy spot, no strange noises apart from Skye Fm radio. My question is when scanning with my Doctor Pro app the reading is 29hg key in, engine off, spot on, but at idle it reads the ...

Re: Steering Rack

Final update. My old remanufactured original rack was installed today, my mechanic can do the whole job in 3 hours now as it was his 4th time doing it! Picked it up an hour ago, feels great, no light on dash and very responsive indeed, bit stiffer than before but it has new bushes so they may give a...
