is there a way if finding out the spec of my car anywhere by typing my reg or chassis number ? my car has the ECO DRIVING AND SPORT options and i have found out my rear shock absorbers leaking, so i need to replace them - but with what ? are they special shock absorbers ? how do i find out ? VW call...

update and good news i have been spraying mannol intake valve and throttle body cleaner into the air intake past the maf sensor of course, it took 2 cans and a couple of months of 1/2 a can at a time but i knew it was doing something as i saw black muck on the pipe that it obvioulsy had loosened. 1 ...

in hindsight i wouldnt get another - its a lovely car but the engine is a clattery thing, i much prefer 6 cylinder engines, i just wish i could find another to compare it with so i knew one way or the other - i had it remapped to 231 bhp but the shove comes at 2k and nothing before..

single bigger turbo

i have bought some egr cleaner and will try that when it arrives - im sure my egr/turbo is clogged so will see if it does anything when it arrives

why dont your go to your dealer and ask for the spec sheet of you car, it will state the build spec of your car as it was made, and then when you know what your car was made with you can compare

i accept most struts are gas struts now, but still have little effect or working ride height, by that i mean when moving, its possible it may lift it slightly at rest but it will have little effect on working ride height as you drive

im lost now - doesn't every turbo need an actuator ? otherwise how does it know when to kick in ?

its not possible for a shock absorber to affect the ride height - the spring controls the height not the shocker

are you saying not even the key in the lock will open the door ?? so how does the rear open - central locking or key ?
