Just ordered new stretch bolts for my passat from vw but they do t come with the spacers. I can see them on ebay but are 20 quid. Is there something special about them or can I use my own spacers if I find out the size of them?

Dont bother with fixing the old one. Buy a motor off fleebay. There 25 quid so not worth the hassle. Changed mine over a few weeks ago and they work fine.

Thanks for your reply. Ive also encountered what i think might be another problem. Ive noticed that the motor splines on the old motor are 12 point and the female on the caliper is 6 point.
