Quick update, I sent the sensor back but am arguing with the seller as he says it’s the wrong part and it’s my fault for not running the eBay comparability guide. Was sold for a B7 passat /

Hi Folks, just to follow up on this if it helps anyone else with the same problem. Got it from eBay but it’s an apec one. Never know it might be a Chinese copy.

Got it sorted, but had to refit the old sensor as it was still showing no signal. Does the new sensor need coding ?

Well fingers crossed. The old one did look in bad shape.

Ok, took the sensor off tonight to find a nice groove worn in it, so it looks like it’s the hub after all. Put the new one in just in case but I’m now getting a ‘wrong signal’ from vcds rather than the intermittent one before. Hopefully a new hub will sort it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202106...

Not sure, I got 0.27v with the multimeter and -0.27v when I reversed polarity. Wasn’t the 0v off and 12v on I was expecting.
The code just came back after clearing it.

Thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately was ruled out with connecting the 12v supply to the motor which worked and produced the washer fluid as normal.
